Are classes in-person or virtual?
The Cyber Defense Analyst 12-month program is entirely virtual. However, virtual classes are led by a live instructor.
Do you offer hands-on experience?
Yes. Our curriculum includes cyber ranges and virtual labs to supplement your coursework. You also can work on actual security consulting engagements to receive apprentice-like hands-on training.
How many hours a week should I plan to devote to completing my program?
For the Cyber Defense Analyst 12-month program, you should plan on being in class for 8 hours per week, with an additional 8 hours of study outside of class time.
What is the average salary I can expect as a cybersecurity professional?
The starting salary for an entry-level position is around $65,000/year. Salaries for more advanced, mid-senior positions range from $65,000-$125,000 and higher.
Do I have to have any previous IT training to apply?
You don’t need any previous experience to apply for the Cyber Defense Analyst program.
When do I need to apply?
New classes begin in February and August. Applications and enrollment are ongoing; however, space is limited. For more information, please reach out to one of our advisors.
Will I get industry-recognized certificates?
Our programs train you for the most recognized industry standard certifications. While our training prepares you for the certifications, you receive the certificate once you pass the certifying exam.

The Cyber Defense Analyst 12-month program costs $14,400.

No. Upon successful completion of our program, you will receive a Carolina Cyber Center certificate.
Does this program give me college credits to continue my education?
Yes. Montreat College, and many others, accept your industry standard certifications toward college credit.
How many people are in the class?
We keep our classes small so you can get the support you need. Classes are limited to 25 participants.
Do you offer housing accommodations for the full-time program?
There are no housing options available.
